You can register for Scouting America at beascout.org. Please select the correct troop during your registration (80 for boys, 8080 for girls).
The troop meets at 7-8pm every Tuesday evening at the Magnolia United Church of Christ. We follow the Seattle Public Schools calendar and we observe any breaks or holidays observed by SPS. We do not hold regular meetings during the SPS Summer Break. In addition to weekly meetings, the troop also holds various events and campouts on weekends and breaks, such as the annual fort campout in mid-spring, the igloo campout in February/March, and the weeklong Camp Parsons summer camp. High adventure trips (e.g. Philmont Scout Ranch, Florida Sea Base) are offered every couple years with limited availability.
Youth aged 11-17 are eligible to join Scouting America. If your child is currently age 10 and in 5th grade, they are also eligible to join after March 1st of that school year. Adults and parents age 18 and up can still be involved as adult leaders. Click here to learn more.
The troop will provide a red Troop 80 neckerchief and slide, Troop 80 t-shirt, troop and patrol patches, and a Scout Handbook. For more info, click here.
The 10 Essentials are a list of items essential to any campout. Other items should also be packed, however the required supplies will depend on the type of campout. If you have questions about packing, just ask!
Important information and event notices will be sent to scout families through TroopTrack emails. Upcoming events and info will also be announced on the troop Discord server (link pending, TroopTrack login required) and at the beginning of every meeting.
If you are a current member of the troop, you can access TroopTrack. You will need the TroopTrack username and password you created when you joined the troop (this is different from your My Scouting account). For prospective members, please contact the Scoutmaster.
Any other questions can be directed to our Scoutmasters or Committee Chair.
